Alternative Dispute ResolutionThe Higgs Law Firm offers alternative dispute resolution ("ADR") services in the mediation and arbitration of disputes. We encourage our clients, where appropriate, to participate in ADR as an alternative to litigation. Mr. Higgs was an administrative Hearing Officer for the Commonwealth of Virginia from 1985 to 1986 and from 1990 to 2001. As a Hearing Officer, Mr. Higgs he arbitrated dozens of administrative disputes and state disciplinary actions. Mr. Higgs is a Senior Arbitrator on the National Panel of Consumer Arbitrators for the Better Business Bureau. He has arbitrated cases for the Better Business Bureau since 1986, and has been designated a Senior Arbitrator since 1988. He was an arbitrator for the American Arbitration Association from 1992 to1996. ADR matters are usually handled on an hourly fee basis.
